The older I get.

(I made Mike take this yesterday because it was the only time we could get a shot of my mom & me together before he left. Outside of a Greek(ish) restaurant we went to for lunch. In a strip mall. Sigh.)

..the more I love & appreciate my mom. She is a gem amongst mothers, & always shows her love for her children & grandchildren. Always, always, always. I really want to be just like her when I grow up.

When I called her a few weeks ago & asked her to come keep me company (i.e. co-parent) while Mike went on an especially long trip to Asia, of course she booked a ticket. I really love her for this (& my dad for letting her come!). The timing has been perfect. I've been sick, Quinn has been sick, & we're just a little worn out. We need the company.

Quinn is in heaven (Grandma is already teaching him new tricks), I'm getting extra naps in, we made the yummiest farewell breakfast for Mike & tonight we're watching The Grammy's  & eating peach sorbet (she's asking me to give her background information on everyone, of course).

I'm growing my bangs out by the way - & probably shouldn't be let out in public for a few months.

Quinn getting some extra pushes from Grandma on the swings this afternoon (it was chilly today!).

Love that Q won't look at the camera. Just smiling at his grandma. You are lucky. Jan (can I call her by her first name? We have played phone tag before) sounds like a good person to have around...always.

i love your growing-out bangs. you do the awkward phase well : )))) fun to have change too--i've been contemplating what to do to my hair... sigh.

It is so true she is a good mom. We are lucky to have her. I love that she had been able to come and visit and be involved in her kids and grandkids lives.
