dug by violence

earth weaps
for the hole
the hatred
the heat

god weaps
for the lost
and the losing

I weap
for the violence
that violence has created
for the Pride

I wish that I could claim these words as my own. My friend Kelli has a piercingly powerful way with words, as does my sister Joanna with photographs. They both produced incredibly moving art on the 5th Anniversary of 9.11 and I am grateful for both of them.
