Music.

I like music that makes me feel. I like music that relaxes, calms and soothes me. I've gotten over the ruckus of a sound that I used to love when I was younger. I still love the song that gets me running faster on the treadmill, but on a daily basis... I like my music mellow. My favorite sound is a clear voice and a guitar or piano.

My favorite of this week is Deb Talan (of The Weepies- another one of my favorites). Her song Comfort does just that. It's older (2003, I think), but was a late discovery for me. I'm driving Mike crazy this week listening to it over and over again.

If you can't remember a better time you can have mine, little one. In days to come when your heart feels undone may you always find an open hand, and take comfort wherever you can.

So cry, why not? We all do. Then turn to one you love and smile a smile that lights up all the room. Follow your dreams in through every out door. It seems that's what we're here for.

Other tracks Mike is tired of listening to:

  • Everything will be Alright - Joshua Radin
  • Living in Twilight - The Weepies
  • 9 Crimes - Damien Rice
  • Open Your Eyes - Snow Patrol
  • Suitcase - Joe Purdy
  • Whatever Gets you Through Today - The Radio
  • Falling Awake - Gary Jules
