Water for Elephants was on my to read list for months, & I finally got around to finishing it this week. The subject matter {a train circus during the 1930's} wasn't initially appealing to me, but I found myself connected to the characters & caring about their lives. It was fascinating how the story jumped from Jacob's time spent with the circus as a young man, to his days as an old man in a nursing home {part of the reason I felt so compelled to visit Seymore last weekend- being old sounds lonely}. Anyway- I liked it. I didn't love it.

Since we usually have books in common, I'll keep this one toward the bottom of my list.
