The view, all day long. Days like this make me not want to get out of bed, & they especially make me not want to venture outside on foot {my most frequent mode of Manhattan transportation}. I lived on the Northwestern coast of Washington for a grand total of 2 1/2 months my 1st year of college & I almost went insane {well, I sort of did- but that's a story for another day}. Alissa, I love you, but we will never be neighbors in Seattle. I hate the rain. New York is especially fun, because we typically get rain & wind. Plus puddles that will exceed any of your wildest expectations. I stepped in a few of them last night on my way home from work, & I was not happy with the squish, squish sound I made when I walked into my building. But back to today. On days like this... you simply don't have a choice, unless you want to accomplish nothing or be a hermit {sometimes I do}. There have been a couple of days in NYC where I have said, There is just no way. But there is, & at the end of the day, you just have to suck it up & go outside. Like today. I had a haircut, plus brunch with friends, plus a few errands, & I just had to go outside. The motto of the day: suck it up. I ended up pretty much soaking wet from the waist down {umbrellas only help so much}, but I'm sort of proud of myself that I can {happily} exist in this kind of environment. It's definitely a unique existence.
.
I have bangs. Bradley {I gave in & went back- I just couldn't stay away from him} decided that it was time for me to look like Kate Moss. I asked him if the new bangs would help me lose 20 pounds, too. No such luck..
. We had brunch this afternoon at David Burke & Donatella. Yum, yum, yum. Have I mentioned that I love brunch? I love brunch, especially with good friends {this time with Ruth/Jared + Abby & Emma/John + Evelyn}. Mike mentioned later that as most of our friends have kids now, he feels like he too needs to be carrying something heavy when we go out. It's obvious how unencumbered we are {although it needs to be said that Evelyn & Abby were perfectly happy & well behaved}. In terms of competition, I think that Norma's & DB&D are neck & neck. I love both, & will happily return to either. Oh- & my french toast {aka huge block of bread saturated in deliciousness} was really good. I won't be eating dinner tonight.

You look soooo cute. I love bangs on you. and man that food looks yummy... Especially the fruit. Yum yum!
I LOVE bangs and they look so great with long hair. Good move. And cheesecake lollipops? So clever and new. Sounds like a great Saturday despite the puddles.
Cute, very cute bangs! And the food looks great!
I know those cold & windy days too. ugh. Bring on spring! Your bangs look great! I am getting my haircut on saturday and am thinking of getting bangs too. I love brunch and good food in general. Eating is so much fun.
Do you just feel like a new woman? The bangs are adorable, and you look bright and spunky. Very cute! It is sobering to think what one has to pay for such perfection, but with all the extra work you do...I have to say it's worth it on occasion....I am really struggling with my hair since Jose retired......I know, I know, I should probably go to Chris......For now, however I'm enjoying Katie, the girl who cuts Erin's hair. Her place (Joses' old salon) is upbeat and fun. She's a super go getter and very good, actually.
The bangs look SO SO SO good Kathryn. Fit your perfectly.
Nice to meet you bangs. Lovely. They really bring out your bright eyes and great cheek bones. That food look great.
It was so fun to meet up and having breakfast despite the bad weather. What I was impressed by was the fact that you stayed out longer just because you didn't want to go home. You are a trooper.
she bangs, she bangs, oh baby when she moves, she moves, i go crazy
