We've had one of those great New York City weekends where we just couldn't really believe that this is our home. Still. After three & a half years. It's not that we did anything spectacular, just that we actually got out of our neighborhood for the first time in a very long time & were reminded of how cool our city really is. The weather was absolutely perfect on Saturday. We walked out of our apartment in the morning & Mike said It feels like we're in San Diego. It really did, & it helped to make the weekend just great.
We haven't gone below 14th Street together in what feels like months (although Mike goes every day for work). On Friday night we made it all the way past Bleecker Street to meet our friends Matt & Mandy for dinner at Jane.
We couldn't decide if these were cracks or bullet holes. Bullet holes sounds far more dramatic & dangerous, so we'll go with that.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Perseus with the Head of Medusa (Canova) - My favorite sculpture, for some odd reason.
Standing Bodhisattva (550 AD)
Sacred Heart.
A walk down 5th Avenue to Rockefeller Center for some quality time with Anthropologie (I left Mike at the Apple store on 5th).
.
Dinner at Tavern on the Green, thanks to a Christmas gift certificate from my Dad.
