Instant.

I bought a Polaroid camera on eBay today. It was really cheap. I think it will be really fun.
.
Yes, Polaroids are no longer being made (nor is their film). Yes, the film is all expiring in 2009. Yes, it's a little expensive. Yes, I love my digital SLR. But Polaroids? They are unique.
.
I have one in my "special box" at home (Spokane-home). When I was about 6 my friend Annie Crego dressed me up in a scary wig, old woman glasses & some sort of cape & snapped a picture of me. She was older, so of course I idolized her & didn't think twice about the fact that I looked absolutely ridiculous. I thought that it was just so cool that she had a Polaroid Camera. I always wanted one.
..
I'm considering this an investment in a Fall Activity, alebit it far less expensive than a ticket to a Broadway show & cheaper than dinner at just about any New York City hotspot. So, off we go to Central Park (I hope Mike will willingly participate). How fun will it be? Running around for a photo shoot in the middle of fall, with pictures that can go in a frame or just on the fridge. Hopefully they will be instant classics (I couldn't resist).

i love poloroid cameras. they are going extinct! how very sad. I got one for a white elephant and thought it was the coolest present ever. I hope I still have it.

Nice work, Kathryn! That will become art.. both the photos and the camera. You could do a really great "scrapbook" project of NYC for a coffee table book.
