I'm a neat freak (how embarassing).

And look what we found growing in our fridge. In our water purifer.

We tossed out the water with the pitcher straight down the garbage shoot.

have mercy, that's exciting. we'll be great friends: i once found some mold growing on the inside of my sonicare toothbrush... no amount of disinfecting could bring me back from that one.

how does that happen? pretty funny.. especially because how/who you are. i

I love the purifiers that go on the sink faucet. That's what we did in Boston just to be safe (washing our fruits, veggies, etc.). And you probably don't have to worry too much about washing it. :)

This is the deal.. You have to wash AND dry out those pitchers about once a week. Next time you get one, do that. Wash it in the morning and then let it air dry all day, or if you prefer, and it's diswasher safe you can do it that way. A few drops of bleach in the water won't hurt either.....when you're washing....Just let it stand for awhile before you rinse.
The sonicare story just curled my toes...You know you can get the sanitizer stands now. We have one and it seems to work fine.

Gross!! We have had ours since we got married and it's never done that, and I don't know if we've ever let it dry out (other than when we had to pack it up for one of our many moves). Although we do change the filter almost monthly.
