Anticipate.

Sometimes I feel just a tiny bit bipoloar - happy, sad, anxious, eager, excited, nervous, all in the same day (which I suppose would mean that I have rapid cycling bipolar disorder). And if I really focus on just one of those things, it can all get sort of out of control & my perspective gets totally out of whack. Like when I made a bunch of lists last week, & then all of a sudden I was totally fixated on (& anxious + potentially obsessive about) these lists & lists of things I had to do. That's not super great when that happens.

I'm focusing on a new list this week (since I can't really control my obsession with lists). Things that I'm excited about. Looking forward to. Anticipating. Because I feel like all things considered, this is a good year in which we get to do some really fun things, & I'm sort of happy about that.

Moving is perched at the top of my list. For our 5th year in Manhattan (!) & 3rd year in a row, we've decided to stay on the Upper East Side for a number of reasons (our ward. friends. stability & continuity. community. the park.) & we may have decided on an apartment for when our lease is up later this spring. Finding an apartment in New York City is about as fun as ripping off toenails one by one while someone is screaming into your ear to hurry up & make a decision about what toenail you'd like to be next, so we're hoping that it's a quick process. When Mike saw the view out of our potentially new apartment he said, This would be so inspirational! My husband is funny. But really. Our church. One block away, among many other things that would be just lovely to have so close (um, Two Little Red Hens 1/2 block away? Yes, please.). I hope we end up in the area. I secretly love to move. I love the fresh start, the fresh paint, the fresh surroundings. Fingers crossed.

Other things to look forward to? Spring. Love. Cacti. Peep-toed shoes. Travels. Birthdays. Sunshine. Ziplines & volcanos. Mouse ears. Family. Running. Music. Weddings. Cherry blossoms.

It's going to be a good couple of months.

Are you going to Disneyland? Arizona? DC? Mexico? Those are the places I gathered from your list. I want to hear more!

The 'uncertainty' always makes me anxious too. It will definitely work out, it will.

p.s. the west side is where its at!

Wait...so you are moving? Just not leaving the UES? Or that is the place you will be moving to in a year? Should I be confused about this?

And if I lived next to 2 Little Red Hens...I would have 2 extra large double chins. That place is too good.

Hi K... I'm feeling ya on finding a place in NY. I'm so annoyed, frustrated, and anxious to find the prefect place. Do we look on the UWS,UES or even back downtown because prices are so great...

BTW- I love your blog and everything you right. I enjoy reading it..

I'm most curious about ziplines and volcanoes.

But, mostly I love that you wrote a list about things to be happy about. Love it that peep toed shoes made the list.

I like that inspirational view, and I'm glad that you like moving because I really hate it, and I was going to feel bad for you having that on the horizon. I am a little bit mad at you for not moving to the 70's like you promised, but I will forgive you since you will live so close to Two Little Red Hens, and I really need an excuse to go there more.

But I have to agree with Jill that the West Side is the Best Side.
