Ca.

We had an event at the XBar last night, this new club in LA that opened a few weeks ago. I worked fairly closely to plan the event with a woman there, and when she came up to me afterwards to ask how everything went {we had not met yet}, she actually hugged me and said that she felt like she knew me so well already. Mike- I'm not in NYC anymore! I'm definitely not used to being hugged by strangers {going back to my I don't like to be touched by strangers comment earlier today- it's a result of living in a city where you do not want to be touched by creepy people}. Otherwise- besides being hit with a cold front {it's much warmer in NYC this week}, LA has been... sort of like being in NYC or Greenwich. I worked most of the day. In an office. An office with a slightly better view, but still- an office. Work is work no matter what side of the country you are on.

Oh- the highlight of the day- waking up at 3am PDT thanks to jet lag. My body has quite the internal clock & I'm fairly used to waking up at 6am EDT. It would have been nice to get some additional shut eye, especially after a late night out, but no such luck. Sigh.

And- something else {random} about being in LA: I have seen several Seagull Bookstores, as well as a few signs for the LA Temple & visitors center. My parents were married here in LA. It's fun to think that the church is so big here, big enough for an LDS Bookstore. That would be fun. A distribution center in NYC would be fun, too. Mail-order underwear is a pain sometimes.

Me gusta la comida de Mexico. Did I say that right, Mike? I love Mexican food, and you cannot find good Mexican food in NYC. I suppose that it is too far away from the border. I think I need to move to LA. We ordered lunch today & had the most delicious, fresh Mexican food. Homemade tortillas, fresh guacamole, fajitas, quesadillas, flan... It was so good. I haven't found a place nearly as tasty in the Big Apple. Have I ever mentioned how much I love the West Coast? I love the open space. I can see mountains from the office I'm in today. People have cars here. Sometimes I think that it would be fun to have a car again, but this would require actually driving, and ever since I completed my nine months of physical therapy thanks to a car accident, I'm not so excited about driving anymore {I've driven about twice in 25 months). So I don't. And- the assistant in this office said that it took her 2 hours to drive the 8 miles home yesterday. Okay- maybe I don't want a car, and maybe I don't want to live in LA. But I really think that I would like to live on the West Coast. {I love New York, promise- but why can't Manhattan be a nice island off the coast of San Diego?}

my parents were married in the LA temple too. cool

I love Mexican food and it is for sure a benefit of being out west. When I lived in London it was the one thing I craved (you would think large cities, no matter how far away, would have yummy Mexican food, they have good Asian food don't they?)

Viva the West Coast! Viva GOOD Mexican food - Though the place we went with the yummy veggie chips was pretty delicious, actually, don't you think?

That place was good Mom, but this place was GOOD. It was so delicious. I can't even describe it.
