Patrick is the kind of guy who probably wouldn't tell his family if he won the Nobel Peace Prize by saving the world from hostile alien invasion. He has always been humble like that, the classic middle child who never caused a fuss or wanted attention.
.
Well, he's in his final year of dental school at UOP & took the 2nd half of the National Boards in December. Of course he didn't tell anyone that he passed. But I found out, anyway.
.
The purpose of the examination is to assist state boards in determining qualifications of dentists who seek licensure to practice dentistry. The examination assesses the ability to understand important information from basic biomedical and dental sciences and also the ability to apply such information in a problem-solving context.
.
Meaning, it's a test on everything he's ever leared in dental school, & necessary for him to ever actually practice. Sort of a big deal.
.
So- congrats, Patrick. I'm proud of you.

I hate that about him. I like being proud of my siblings and we shouldn't keep great things a secret. Good job Patrick! I never doubted you would do anything other than pass with flying colors!
This post choked me up. That is typical Patrick! He even got a good score. If I didn't find his scores in the mail I probably wouldn't even know.
Patrick, Patrick....oh Patrick. Why is it that I get this news via a blog, for Pete's sake? I'm your mommy after all !!!!!!! After all those nights of getting up to feed you...after all the dirty diapers...after surviving the teen years.....I love the chance to jump up and down and to cheer your success. I'm still waiting for the call...:)
