Misc.

  • I love that New York welcomes jay-walking. We not only pardon it, we embrace it. I only realized that fully while I was in San Francisco last month & realized that everyone at intersections patiently waited until the walk sign started to flash. In Manhattan, I would have been halfway across the street by then.
  • I had my first physical yesterday. It turns out that I'm 2 inches taller than I thought (I'm 5'5"- I really thought I was 5'3") & that my blood pressure & sugar are quite low (I knew this, thanks to mid-church trips to the store to get sugar so I could survive the walk home). Otherwise, I'm a-okay. It was the first time I've been to a boy doctor in a long time (my girl-stuff doctor is a woman- it's just better that way). All was fine until he did the EKG, i.e. put little sticky things all over my body. All. Awkward. Oh well. As my mom said, parts are parts.
  • It is 72 degrees today & absolutely perfect. So happy.
  • The Times had a very complimentary piece on Michelle Obama this morning. I think people need to stop giving her such a hard time already.
  • I wish Mike were home. I hate, hate, hate sleeping alone. Mike, on the other hand, relishes in the opportunity to sprawl out.
  • My little brother-in-law Bryan informed me yesterday that my blog has changed. Has it changed? He subtly implied that it is too girlie & that it lacks substance. Apparently eye shadow & shopping do not impress him. He misses Mike's posts. I'm just not as witty, funny, or articulate as Mike. I try.

-I agree about jay-walking, (New York is the best)
-I have never had a physical. Do I need one with the amount of time I spend at the Doctor these days? I'm glad you are in good health.
-the weather is perfect.
-I think Michelle Obama is a classy lady. Why do pundits give them such a hard time?
-I am torn about sleeping alone. I get very lonely, but I really like to sprawl. Perhaps we just need a bigger bed.
-I don't think your blog is shallow. It is the perfect mix of fluff and real stuff.

Love you, and these posts.

I ditto Julia - Except I have an inner, subliminal, scary fear of Michelle Obama....can't pinpoint the why of it. So - what I'm saying is that perhaps I am wrongly falling for the Glen Beck hype about her without knowing the facts. I need to read more.

I once got an $80 ticket for jay walking. Seriously. Hooray for NYC.

I'm a total jay walker but I do in designated crosswalks, so I'm not totally breaking the law. Also, I've never had an EKG and it sounds miserable. 72 degrees would be absolutly hot compared to our weather. I'm with Mom on Michelle, but I'm also probably a little uninformed. I love sleeping alone, and I love your blog. It's an evolving thing and never boring.
