Fall Treats Party.

The Fall Treats Party was a success. We had such a great turnout & people brought amazing food- apple pie, baked brie (SJ, I want the recipe!!) apple cider, sugar cookies, pumpkin muffins, cheesecake, guacamole & Obama rice crispy treats (which some people liked & others didn't) among many things. We had a really good time. I was happy that we could help carry on Sarah Jane & Nathan's tradition. The common room in our building was a great spot- lots of room to spread out, & plenty of space for the toddlers to run amuck without disassembling or breaking anything in our not-baby-proofed apartment. I made Shack Shack's hot chocolate for the first time & kept it warm in my crock pot. Oh my gosh. It tasted just like the real thing. SO GOOD. Next time, I think I'm going to serve it in shot glasses, because it was just that rich. People stayed for a good amount of time, & then the after party (couples sans offspring) stuck it out until around 10pm. Topics of conversation were centered on weird underwear (I laughed so hard I cried a few times) & iPhones. It was fun.
.
Hooray for good friends. We're thinking that we'll have to do something holiday in December. Maybe eggnog, with obnoxiously festive sweaters required.

*My camera was floating around all night, so it turns out that I don't get credit for any of these photos.

It was an excellent party. But I am feeling a little sad that I am no-longer in the crowd that can stick around until 10pm. But I am not that sad though.

Sounds fun. Laughing so hard you are about to cry is one of my favorite things. I want to try your Shack Shake hot chocolate.

o i CANNOT wait to try the hot chocolate! the best HC i had was in Florence and have been dying to find one that rich and thick and yummy! :) sorry we had to miss it - but include us in your holiday plans (since we always stay in NYC for festive lights, etc..) - we'll dig up Dan's Reindeer sweater. :P

It was such a good event. I say let's set a date for december so I can actually come up with something delicious to make instead of falling back on candy. You were so nice to host!
