We had friends over yesterday & made this dinner. I told Mike that I can be a real Mormon housewife now because I've finally made funeral potatoes. I'm pretty sure I've never made a casserole before, let alone potatoes au gratin. I'm just not a casserole person.
Anyway.
Dinner turned out well. Mike was a huge help, & we're learning that if I cook, & he cleans up the apartment, we love each other a lot more & manage to avoid some of the stress of trying to share a kitchen or me (admittedly) freaking out because something is out of place in the living room (I think I've mentioned that I don't like messes). It keeps us both sane, & accomplishes the end goals. We ended up having a great time. Good friends, good food, & perfectly-behaving babies. Fun.

funeral potatoes might not look tasty, but they are good. hmm.. your dinner sounds delish and how pretty is your salad?
I need to make it.
I love the picture of our pretty salad! Glad you included it in your traditions!
That salad really is the best. I'm making it for Christmas this year...
I am also ZERO fun to cook with. I get snappy because Brad isn't reading my mind. Now I cook and he does the dishes. :)
