For fear of misrepresenting myself.

I am no domestic goddess.

But last week's menu had pretty phenomenal results. Everything was great. Everything was easy & perfectly simple (my style of food). Don't ask me what my favorite was, because I couldn't choose. I'd make it all again. I will make every dish again.

But not this week.

Not all weeks are created equal, & we're de-evolving just a tiny bit this week. But that's okay, because we're doing it on purpose. Which makes it okay, right? Right. Here's our non-menu of non-recipes for the week:
  • Monday: Pulled pork quesadillas, using leftovers from Sunday night's oh-so-good  Cafe Rio fiesta.
  • Tuesday: Dinner plans out
  • Wednesday: I'll be at book club, partaking in the wonders of girl time & lap food. Mike will likely be scavenging, hopefully running into an Amy's burrito inside of our freezer. They're yummy.
  • Thursday: BBQ Chicken Pizza from Trader Joe's. Have you had it? It's delicious. Don't judge me so quickly - I'll make a salad.
  • Friday: Potstickers + edamame. Both frozen, both from Trader Joe's.
  • Saturday: An all-day field trip to Brooklyn. I'm planning on dinner out (anyone have a favorite Brooklyn spot?).
  • Sunday: Chicken Roll Ups
*Breakfast & lunch will consist of oatmeal, cereal, the surplus of apples we seem to have (we're not apple people. We just aren't.), leftovers, hummus + carrots & fun food adventures out. I'm also planning on making Paula's Fried Peanut Butter & Banana sandwich. Soon. Because it just looks THAT. GOOD. Because I'm going to be in a swimsuit in four weeks, so why not (uh oh.)?

I'll be a domestic goddess again next week. All of those great meals sure made Mike happy, but it's all about managing expectations, right?

Peel, core and slice those apples and pan fry them quickly w/ a little cinnamon sugar and butter. Yummy, and kind of special tasting. Nice w/ vanilla ice cream, for sure! Or...I chop them up and add them to oatmeal or steel cut oats.

Coming out of hiding again (in case you are wondering, I've been lurking on your blog for about five months, but have NO idea how I found it - I would guess through Dooce maybe, if you've ever left a comment there & included your URL).

There are tons and tons of good Brooklyn places! I don't know which neighborhood you'll be in, but:

Bocca Lupo in Cobble Hill (Henry & Warren Streets)
Al di La in Park Slope on 5th Ave
Cubana Cafe in Carroll Gardens (on Smith St.)
Lunetta in Boerum Hill (also on Smith)

Heidi, we're going to Tucson, AZ for a wedding in early April. Warm + pool = I can't wait. So excited.

Julia - lovely to meet you (& thank you for the suggestions). :)

If you're going to Brooklyn and you love stationery, do stop by my friend Alie's new paper store: Paper Love (a specialty paper boutique in Park Slope, Brooklyn). She has darling things I think you would love - I have no clue where Park Skope is in relation to everything else you may be doing though!!

Louise, we totally went! To Paper Love, that is. Turns out she's in my friend Jill' ward in Morningside Heights, so it was already on our agenda. It was a darling shop. Photos to come. :)
