Yesterday I:

Was the only person in New York City who wasn't wearing green. The city celebrates this holiday to the absolute extreme, I suppose thanks to the large number of people of Irish descent in the northeast. But seriously. I even got yelled at by a random stranger on the street for my offense. My defense was that I have green eyes. Geesh

Watched Gossip Girl on the DVR (before 8am). I'm so over it. Sort of.

Went to Penelope for brunch with friends. Next time I'll take Nicole's advice. My french toast was yummy, but didn't even come close to her pumpkin waffles. I'll be going back.

Hit up a JCrew sample sale over on the west side & picked up a swimsuit that I apparently can't fill out on top (lovely) & a dress that I'm quite pleased with. It's annoying not being able to try things on before you buy, but a dress for a zillion percent off & a swimsuit for $15? I'll take it.

Grabbed a few things at the grocery store for this recipe. My menu for this week has gotten just a little messed up this week. We'll see how well I recover.

Spent a few hours on the phone. Job search, family, friends. There's a lot going on in the world, good & bad. I'm glad I have 900 cell minutes a month.

Almost burned down my apartment trying to melt chocolate in the microwave for this chocolate mousse (picture me holding the literally-smoking bowl outside of my 29th floor window). Oh. You're supposed to stir the chocolate? Oops.

Ate dinner with my husband, although with is sort of a relative term. He was stuck on a conference call the whole time. At least we got to sit by each other?

Watched American Idol & painted my toes. Adam Lambert? He was really creepy last night - seriously gave me the willies. I really loved Anoop, Danny, & Kris. I'm not really a fan of any of the girls, except maybe Megan. I like her style of singing.

Thought about an experience I had on the subway on Monday night that was sort of scary (it involved a clearly crazy man, spitting & a massive amount of yelling, among other things) & remembered that as humans, we really just need to be kind to each other.

Today - It's Williamsburg Wednesday. Off I go!

A JCrew sample sale? That sounds great! I didn't wear green yesterday either and I feel really guilty about it...

How was the chocolate mousse?

I only accidentally wore green- I'm so not into that holiday. I guess I would not fit in in NYC.

Jcrew sample sale- fun!

I didn't wear green either if that makes you feel better. I have a funny story to tell you about a lady going crazy at the pub down the street from your place. Very entertaining.

Listen to me next time at brunch. And I agree that Adam was super creepy - but I think he always kid=of is.

JCrew sample sale?? A dream. I need to send my brother there I guess.

I love Megan's style of music. I didn't watch last night so I'm hopefully going to catch up tonight. I like Danny too.

Lindsey, the chocolate mousse was... interesting. The recipe says to mix until smooth, but mine never really got smooth. So it sort of felt like I was eating ricotta w. chocolate (which I was, but still). It was good though, and I think better if you use good chocolate vs. Hershey's or some equivalent. It was easy enough, & Mike ate all of his. But I don't give it huge raving reviews.
