People often ask me if I'm bored.
Are they serious? How could I possibly be bored?
I spent an hour or so wandering around the New York Public Library at Bryant Park on Tuesday. Alone. I didn't talk with anyone except the nice man at the Information Desk who took my inquiry about getting a library card.
It was wonderful.
And I'm glad that after 4+ years of living here, after walking by it dozens & dozens of times, that I've finally been inside this beautiful building.

I am so glad you went! Isn't it glamourous? It makes me feel like I'm stepping into a movie with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Or Audrey Hepburn. You get my drift. :)
The building just encourages enlightenment, reading and learning.
I watched a show on TLC a couple of weeks ago with a wedding planner who put on a reception here. It was incredible!
Okay, this gives me a shot in the arm to just go out in the City and wander by myself. Just go, just go. I'm going to do it. Thanks.
I love the NYPL. JT & I would study there sometimes & then take a lunch break in Bryant Park when they had live piano music. It's one of my favorite NYC memories.
Your Mom and I could go to the Spokane Library and blog the pics - what do you think :) Okay, maybe the downtown one to keep it on a comp basis. Seriously, those pics were beautiful.
it's one of my favourite places! alan took me there on my first trip to nyc.
WOW! What a beautiful place. I can see why you would want to photograph it. You did a great job too. LOVE the photos.
Oooh, Devin would love those German books that you photographed. I should ask him what they are - encyclopedias?
I love that you are a resident tourist in your city. Can you make a post of "if I had only 48 hours in NYC (or less) what I would do and eat and see" ??
I'm glad you got there - It is a spectacular building! I'm such a library fan - all these years of reading...my books are my friends...but it has to stop sometime. I'm buried in them. Nowdays I use my card a lot - while the Spokane system is hardly New Yorks, I do pretty well.
wow. what a COOL place!
