New Canaan with our friends the Burtons.

We had Thai food for dinner. Bacon, egg & cheese (con papas) sandwiches from our favorite deli in town for breakfast. We drove through New Canaan & Darien, looking at the pretty leaves, homes & churches (stopping for photos along the way). We were too stuffed for lunch. We went to the New Canaan Fall Fair at the Nature Center. Fox went on his first pony ride & we all danced along to a reggae (?!) band. We drove north & found the perfect apple orchard with the perfect cider donuts + apple cider (hot & cold). Shortly after, we stumbled upon a pumpkin patch that was, well, perfect. And then - We drove back to the orchard to get more of the cider donuts because they were just that good. We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Their dark brown bread is my favorite, & I think I'm okay with the fact that they now (in Westchester County) are required by law to post the calories on the menu. Eek. It's about moderation, right? Right. We crafted. We stayed up way too late watching movies that I won't admit to watching (okay, I will - Step Up II. Best movie ever - the last dance?? Amazing.). We made breakfast. We went to church. We made lunch. We napped. We got on a train & came home.

It was a great weekend in the suburbs with our cousins (2nd, & me by marriage, but whatever). I guess you sort of have to be friends with your family, but we'd be friends with these guys even if blood weren't involved.

You look adorable. I love the one of you on the pumpkins...and all the other photos too. Can I move to New England?

I love the close up of you and the pumpkins. And I think finding the perfect pumpkin patch may be the best thing that can happen to a person. We did too last weekend and it lifted me. (Although ours didn't have cider and that sounds so amazing right now. And donuts!)

I've been wanting to do that craft too.

my favorite are the ones of you. I think the black clapboard house should be your new profile picture.

I miss my friend.

Kathryn...I'm like, obsessed with your hair. I know I probably don't know you well enough to say that...but I am.

I haven't met Matt yet, but I was stunned to see in this picture how much he looks like his mom's brother Steve...really has the Grow side in his face. And where is that cool Darien sign?...settled by Jos Smith?!
