Corinne & Ada.

I took their photos before lunch today at the garden at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Pretty girls! Lots & lots of sunshine, & lots & lots of bright flowers. Loved it.

People are often asking what my favorite lens is these days, & it has to be my 70-200mm f/2.8. Corinne may have made fun of me when I pulled it out. It might be huge & weigh as much as a small infant, but the color is always amazing & it's sharp as a tack. Seriously. I took each of these photos with it, & didn't want to adjust a thing (except maybe a little owie that Ada has on her forehead). I hate carrying it around, but I'm always so happy that I did when I do. That's sort of my goal with photography, by the way. To be a good photographer. Not a good photoshop-er (no glow-the-dark eyes or any of that silly business for me). I'm working on it. Practice, practice.

Anyway.

Ada's cute, Corinne is pretty. They're just a nice mama / baby pair. And the flowers! Can you believe them?

Beautiful photos. You are a very good photographer. I am always in love with your pics. I know what you mean about photoshop v natural photos. I like it when little adjustment has been made. :)

beautiful! Spokane is still looking a little dull with nothing in bloom... I am so jealous of the colors there!
I was curious about your lenses, haha! I bumped in to Christopher (and a bunch of your fam) at the Y recently and we talked about your photography!
I was just going to buy a 55-250mm and I am hoping to have some fun with it!
Keep up the great pictures!

gorgeous colors! those are great photos of c&a. here's what i think -- if you can take a picture of me without my heinous forehead vein a-throbbing (in the bright sunshine, no less), you are an amazing photographer.

Pics are beautiful! Baby and mom are cute, flowers are yummy, but my FAV is the little bird in the fountain~!!

Could I get a copy of that one? I'll pay you! I want it framed in my house.

Oh my goodness, that little Ada has gotten so big! I remember seeing pictures of her that you'd posted a while back. She is gorgeous and so is her mom. And the flowers? Yes! Amazing.

I feel the same way about photoshop. Could we please just ban it completely? I just really don't like how it's taken over the world of photography. I suppose that it does have its time and place, but I think that some people forget that it is possible to take beautiful pictures without any help from photoshop. I could go on and on about this, but I'd really rather not bore you completely.

Anyway, I love your pictures and I love that you're trying to be a good photographer and not a good photoshop-er. Keep up the good work, Kathryn! You're fantastic:)

Seriously these pictures are beautiful. I want your talent! I need to practice more. But I also think you have some innate talent that can't be taught!
