Suzi, Will & I went to the park the other day, even though it was 90+ degrees with approximately bazillion percent humidity. We were all sweating profusely, but being outside feels (mostly) good, & we took the bus back from the west side. I'm really loving buses these days. Great air conditioning, I always get a seat, & I can multi-task on my phone the whole way. I'd rather wait than take the subway in the sweltering heat.
(Side note: I was in an elevator with a woman yesterday who literally had multiple drops of sweat dripping off of her already-soaked body. She was red, she was puffy, & she looked absolutely miserable. She went on & on & on about how dreadful this summer was, & said that it's the worst NYC summer she's experienced in NINETEEN YEARS, & the worst on record in who-knows-how-long. I'm so glad this is the summer I ended up being in my third trimester of pregnancy.)

Oh, & while we were on the west side - we stopped at Shake Shack for a little treat only for them to tell us that the one on the east side had opened an hour before. !!
(I went for lunch yesterday. It's great, of course.)
In the bag? The best apple fritter I've ever had. I love Dean & Deluca for this very purpose (even though it has many other redeeming qualities, too). Well, actually, that's what I usually get. On Wednesday I got a PB&J (raspberry jelly) donut from Donut Plant, without having to go all the way down to the Lower East Side. Hallelujah. Going to the LES is like going to New Jersey. Inconvenient, lots of traffic, not the greatest scenery along the way. No thank you.
This week has been hot. And I've been uncomfortable, & maybe cranky. To top it off, I've had several episodes of what I'll call pregnancy-induced crying, one at approximately 5am this morning. Bless Mike's heart. He's a good husband.
I tricked my faithful friend Kelsey into coming over today & had her help me hang two frames on my wall. I already mentioned that we should have just paid someone to do all of this, right? It's a total pain & it makes me all flustered, especially when lots of measurements & fractions are involved (I blame my third grade teacher for my poor foundation in mathematics). Hanging two frames is an epic accomplishment for which I will be forever grateful to Kelsey. 6 down, 11 to go! That's the project for the weekend - my frame wall is currently taking up my living room floor.
I'm off to dinner & then bowling (!!) with Mike + friends. Bowling! Yup. I'm sure I'll be quite the site, not to mention the fact that I've never come close to breaking 100. Speaking of spectacles - tomorrow, we're off to The Hamptons. It's going to be a very lovely weekend, I think, with the exception of my 8- month pregnant body in a lycra / spandex combo.

It was SO hot that day. But the apple fritter made it a bit more tolerable.
