The Hamptons were quite windy on Saturday.

Friday night - we ate Thai food in the city, just the two of us. I love spicy. Although we're sort of starting to think that Thai might be the most generic of Asian cuisine. Hmm. Either way, my curry was yummy, & it was nice to be out together.

Saturday - we were up early & off to The Hamptons - just the two of us. Those days of two are limited (21 days from today, if we're being technical + fortune telling), which is still crazy to think about, but every outing together seems numbered at this point & is taking on some sort of new meaning. Our day trip was fun. Beautiful weather, except that the winds from the Hurricane Earl remnants caused us to leave the beach after a relatively short time, thanks to blowing sand (it hurts). The waves! They were huge, too. The wind + the waves made for a very loud beach. But still beautiful. Sad (or happy!) to think that it was the last beach day that the belly got to see some sun. Hopefully next year's shadow photo in a bikini top & shorts looks a bit better.

We wandered around The Hamptons for a few hours (finding a nice cafe for lunch & a perfect little fruit stand for some fresh produce to bring home, & driving around our favorite areas & taking in the beautiful views) before heading back to the city & taking advantage of having a car for a bit - which meant a massive trip to Costco, & dinner in the Lower East Side followed up by dessert in the East Village. And we drove! Besides a parking ticket, it was lovely - & I slept better last night than I have in weeks thanks to total, happy exhaustion & perfect temperatures in the upper 50's last night. We slept with all of our windows open & the breeze blowing in. By the middle of the night, I'd pulled our comforter all the way up to my chin.

Is that fall I smell? I think so.
