My mom called me last spring & asked me to pick out fabric for the quilt that she wanted to make for Baby Boy. I've been, um, particular ever since I was a little girl & my mom gets this - so she let me pick out the fabric & the pattern. I wanted something that didn't scream baby!, that we could keep in our living room & that we could use if / when we ever have a girl, too. Modern. Simple. Pretty. So, off to Purl Soho I went (with two friends as helpers!) & picked out 11 different fabrics for the Amy Butler pattern that I'd chosen. That in & of itself was an adventure, like putting together a massive puzzle of various colors & patterns that worked just so. But the fabric! Oh my gosh, it's just beautiful. Really, really beautiful fabrics. Almost makes me wish I was crafty, but in the meantime, I'm happy to have a mother who is.
I'm obsessed with the pom poms, which is a good thing since I probably spent 45 minutes in the store picking out the perfect orange.
And the white / blue / green fabric with bikes? Love!
Thanks, Mom. It's beautiful. We'll keep it forever & ever (along with the other quilt you made me almost 9 years ago when I graduated from high school - eek!). Quinn loves it, too. See!

Nice pom poms! I'll bet it was really fun to make - and so simple. What a thoughtful daughter you are.
it's such a lovely quilt!
hi. it's me. what did you do with quinn, and who is this not-so-newborn baby on your mother's beautiful quilt? i've only been MIA for a few weeks, and he's already changed so much.
Lucky you to have this quilt - I want to make one so so bad! And those pom poms are completely adorable. I want some for my someday quilt too.
Look at him getting so big and figuring out where his hands are.
It's beautiful!
