An easy drive. Perfect weather. No crowds. A happy little boy. It was a really nice morning at the zoo.
Q has a mild (understatement) train obsession lately, & could barely contain his excitement to ride the choo choo (the 2nd photos show his face when he heard it coming around the corner to pick us up). For some reason though, as soon as we started to walk out towards the train he got scared & started with his Go! Go! Go!'s. He absolutely did not want to get on. Of course, I made him, & a few minutes later he calmed down & was a happy boy repeating choo! choo! choo! in his sweet tiny voice over & over (& over) again - although he wouldn't get off of my lap, & wanted to hold my hand or my arm the entire time.
The sweetest.
We were happy to run into friends Danielle & Wells at the petting zoo (they should move closer), & then swung by the ducks to say hello - although Q was too focused on sharing his snack to really pay them much attention, nor to the giraffes who we saw next. So - we made an early(ish) exit & headed to The Heights for a yummy lunch at Lola (their Day After Thanksgiving sandwich makes me so happy), which resulted in neither my mom nor I eating dinner last night.
Happy day.

I think you are the one that needs to move closer! Or we should split the difference and both move to Memorial :)
