The zoo (the train).

I forgot my camera!! It's like a third child I suppose, and since I can barely keep track of my two, it's probably for the best. But still! iPhone photos! They hurt my eyes sometimes, and I crave the control and clarity of my DSLR when I'm without it, but alas - this is what I have from our day.

We drove down to the zoo, mostly so that Quinn could ride the choo choo train again, and also so that we could see Danielle + Wells and Betty + Austen. Lots of little boys, and they loved their train ride (until we made them get off, and then they were a bit sad - Quinn expressed the emotion on behalf of everyone, apparently). Isn't funny how a love for trains is so engrained in these boys? Despite the fact he has various toys at our house - from instruments to animals to cars to balls - what he really loves most are his choo choo trains. He has a sweet excitement and enthusiasm for them that is so pure and happy.

It was West's first visit to the zoo, and you could say that he was... underwhelmed. He basically stayed in the carrier, and didn't make a peep until he needed a snack. This boy is mellow.

We lunched at Eatsie Boys Cafe afterwards, where both of my sleepy sons behaved like total gentlemen (amazing). West slept and Quinn watched Thomas on the way home, and everyone (except me) took a late afternoon nap. My mom fed Quinn dinner, bathed him and let him stay up late watching American Idol with her under the cozy quilt she just finished for us. She just put him to bed (he refused to let me - sigh) and you could say that he was pleased as punch - and totally spent.

West's smile and giggles prove that it was a successful day.

Seriously, baby giggles are the very very best.
