Understatement.

One of the few photos we have of all four of us. The opportunity to get one is rare (understatement).

My mom was here for a solid week (plus!) while Mike was in Asia, and then my brother Andrew came with his family 24 hours later. We had a good time with them, and really appreciated the effort they made to come and see where we've lived for the past year and a half. We went to the rodeo - except this time I wasn't sick with a new baby in my belly, introduced them to our favorite fajitas and made an obligatory trip to the zoo to ride the choo choo. Mike left for New York the same afternoon that they went home (Sunday) and got back after midnight last night. He had to be at an early meeting downtown this morning, and is getting home just in time to throw our stuff in the car to head to the airport for our 3pm flight to Colorado for our 3rd Annual Hudson / Whiting ski trip. We'll be there until Sunday, and then we have a week of quiet, which means that Mike mostly gone traveling and I'll be home. Mike's parents to visit come the week after that, and then oh my goodness - it's the middle of April.

We've been busy.

(Understatement.)

West's helmet is giving him rashes all over his head (sweating + sensitive skin - ugh), so we're having a bumpy start to the whole process and I'm frustrated - but trying to be patient. I'm not an especially patient person, so this is a challenge (understatement). Amidst trying to pack up our entire family yesterday (why do we need the same obscene amount of stuff no matter the length of the trip?!), I had to take him down to orthodist to get things checked / adjusted - in 90˚ weather, I might add (likely not helping things). My child now smells like cortisone cream instead of sweet baby and we're going to ease our way into the helmet more slowly than we initially started in hopes that his skin adjusts. Fingers crossed that the cold and dry air this week helps.

Quinn is asking for chocolate (time for lunch) and West just woke up from a long morning snooze. Off we go!
