Adventures.

With the risk of being somewhat dramatic, I should probably mention that I almost died yesterday, & only lived thanks to the saving grace of the emergency breaks in our elevator shaft. Suddenly dropping 11 floors & then screeching to a halt (luckily before smashing into the ground) is not fun. No one fell over, but my stomach was in my throat. My elevator mates & I were all a little shaken up, & quite happy to get off on the Lobby floor. I really hate the elevators in our building. They always seem to be funny, in a not so good way. Sometimes it amazes me that I go up & down 29 floors in a tiny little box, several times a day, so easily trusting the cables that keep us safe.

dang, that is scary. I used to be nervous in elevators (when I was very young), and now I take them several times a day. I have never been in an elevator that drops more than a few feet, but even that freaks me out. Good thing that they are in reality, very safe.

Yikes! I'm glad you walked away unharmed. It's crazy how you stop thinking about things if you do them often enough.

No way! You've just experienced my worst nightmare!!
We want details....Did you free fall, or did the brakes screech all the way down. Did you have visions of impending doom and demise? How did you feel getting into the neighboring elevator?

Oh man please don't die on an elevator that would really not be good.

Sweet - you got to ride the Tower of Terror without even paying! You should sue your apartment complex and go buy a penthouse somewhere with your settlement. :) I'm really glad you're ok, Kathryn.

That's freaky Kathryn. I would seriously freak out and never ride in the buildings elevator again.
