It's Monday & it's pouring rain.

The mean lady at Yogurt Land yells at me when I pull out my camera. Since when was taking photos of yogurt a crime? I had to be sneaky today. Unfortunately, I didn't capture the pouring rain that was constant ALL. DAY. LONG. My camera would have faced a certain death had I made an attempt, but just think puddles. Lots & lots of puddles. It was the kind of rain (& wind) that sends umbrellas to the graveyard that is a Manhattan sidewalk garbage can. It's 9:30pm & it still hasn't stopped. What happened to Saturday's weather?

Naturally - I spent most of the day outside. After having the best diner food I've ever had with Suzi at Big Daddy's, Erin & I wandered aimlessly around Soho in the rain. It was not lovely, although I was happy to have my rain boots that allow me to brave puddles & sloshy subway stairs.

I went running tonight, on the treadmill given the weather. I was planning on taking the day off & jumping on the elliptical instead, but after Sarah Jane sent me an email with the link for me to register for the Brooklyn Half Marathon - & I actually registered - I decided that running was a good idea. May 30th. 13.1 miles. I had a really perfect 6-mile run through Central Park last weekend (think vibrant sunshine, a park full of fellow runners, & blowing cherry blossoms set to the perfect song on mile 5 - I was so happy), & I'm excited to run this race through Brooklyn.

Today's Mileage: 5.18. Treadmill.
Power Song: Kryptonite - Purple Ribbon All Stars

Why does she yell at you? That's strange.

Good run. I need a 5 mile run in my life. Somehow pushing a mega double stroller 3 miles doesn't give off that same endorphin effect.

I'm so impressed. 6 miles seems like a long run! I walked about 4 miles yesterday, and now, retracing my walk, I am pretty confident I couldn't run it.

Ha, ha. I'm glad you posted this because it reminded me to check again. I just went online and registered, too. And since I don't have access to a treadmill, ran my 7 miles in the POURING rain while pushing a stroller yesterday. Then woke up late, so I'm going to be pushing on a shorter run in the rain again this afternoon. Fun times. :)

You make me almost want to run. A few more posts like that and I may have to stop making excuses...
