Brick Church.

Excuse the photos. It was very dark.
Sunday night we + friends went to the Brick Church caroling & tree lighting event that is held every year on Park Avenue. I don't know how we've made it this long without going, but I'm so glad that we finally did. I suppose it's akin to what New Canaan does every year at God's Acre every Christmas Eve - caroling together as a community. It was a little bit different on the Upper East Side (way more people on a temporarily-closed major thoroughfare), but the feeling was the same - & equally WASPy as well, which I suppose was sort of surprising (sort of) given New York's diversity. Anyway. The music was great, it was fun to carol, & even though the actually "lighting" was relatively unimpressive (just the Christmas trees down the center of Park) it was still a great event. It was freezing cold & for the first time it actually felt like winter. But I'll take it. It's fun around here this time of year.
