Currently.

I think that being home with a newborn those first few days & weeks - whether by necessity (because your body demands the rest to recover) or by choice (because they're only so tiny once) - is one of the sweetest experiences. It is a tangible, grounding reminder of all that really matters - everything within the walls of your home, with maybe just a few extension cords reaching out (thank you, cell phones, FaceTime, the Internet...). We've basically done this for the past 8 days - spent quiet, restful days at home with a few trips out to the pediatrician, the grocery store & the park across the street, with my mom doing a phenomenal job of taking care of the rest (including but not limited to teaching Q the beginning of his ABC's, endless new words & basically being responsible for his general health & well being - he has been in heaven). I've picked up approximately 12% of phone calls & am spending a lot of time snuggling with each of my boys on the couch (or protecting one from the other...).  It's been really nice getting to know our sweet West.

More soon(ish).

There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.

That is the truth, it is so nice to slow down. Quinn's brown eyes are so handsome. My favorite picture of West is still when he is swaddled in his bassinet looking so peaceful and tiny. A week already!
