You won't like this post if you don't like (a lot of) leaves.

Mike would probably do a better job telling you where we drove on Sunday. He played navigator (steve played driver), & I played... photographer. I know that we went through New Jersey, along the Hudson River, into New York & then back to Connecticut - for about 6 hours. One of my favorite stops was a beautiful cemetery with headstones dating back to the 1700's (& some Revolutionary Dead for our friend Matt Burton who likes such things), maybe one of the most beautiful cemeteries I've ever seen. The leaves were at peak everywhere we went & we were so happy to get to make the drive. Fall foliage watching is all about timing in the northeast. You blink, & you miss it! It was spectacular, although I wish the sun wasn't quite so bright.

It's raining in New York today. All day long, so they say. I was supposed to be doing a really cool photo safari with a Lensbaby in Central Park today, but that's not happening now due to weather. Sad. But - I did start a portrait class yesterday with Candice Stringham (a la Design Mom's family photos) & I'm really excited. One month long, & makes me feel a little bit like I'm going back to school & have some responsibility in the world.

Well I love leaves and I always love your pictures so, naturally, I love this post. These are so beautiful. Growing up, Sunday afternoon drives in New Jersey with my family were my favorite. Just another reason why I love this post.

How exciting that your in-laws remember! You're right. The world is very small. I love finding fun little connections!

I just thought I'd tell you that my mom made your pumpkin turkey chili on Saturday for the fall festival at church. She was looking for something a little different and I'd remembered that you mentioned it a while ago. Let me tell you, she was very apprehensive about it in the beginning. Well she ended up loving it. So did everyone at church:)

Love the tombstone in the leaves pict. I tried to grab it for our wallpape... Now I'm even more impressed by your copyright protection! Do you have dates for any snowboarding trips this year, yet?

That's the new camera you got?!? The 5D mark II? Oh my, I'm jealous. I'd be obsessed too, if I were you.
