- I fell asleep at 7:30pm on Friday night.
- We went to a ward picnic at Central Park. Our backyard. It was beautiful, but almost cold. Which was perfect.
- I walked home & had to navigate through the crowds of people dressed up in traditional German attire, singing traditional German songs, while drinking excessive amounts of German beer. There was a German-American parade on 5th Avenue.
- I emptied out the contents of my entire bedroom & put them back together in a 5-hour cleaning fury on Sunday (I told you so). Bookshelves were emptied & then refilled (making sure that the edges of the books were lined up & the heights descended appropriately), drawers of clothes were re-folded, closets were arranged by color then sleeve length, socks were organized, baseboards were scrubbed, underneath the bed was cleaned out & swept out (indescribably gross). Nothing was left untouched.
- Large pieces of furniture may have been completely rearranged. I may have done it all by myself. It may have sort of hurt.
- That’s what happens when Mike leaves me alone for 12 hours. I get lonely. But our room looks so much better.
- I put all my summer clothes way up high where I cannot reach them. Sad. But wonderful.
I used my vacuum for the first time & felt like I was the happiest girl in the world. We’ve had it for months, but Mike is very good about vacuuming & I may have not vacuumed in a few months. I could vacuum all day with this thing. Lovely. - Mike took me out to eat the biggest hamburger of my life for lunch, at a steakhouse where we were all alone, thanks to being in Tribeca on a Saturday. He thinks it was better than Shake Shack. I politely disagree.
- I was called an angel for doing something pretty normal. I rescued a hideous leopard print (velvet?) jacket from a cab I had just gotten into, literally jumping out & chasing a not-surprisingly-old lady down the street. I've never seen someone so excited. I think I should have done her a favor & not given it back to her. It looked like a dead animal.
- My feet went to pedicure heaven. I went to my favorite nail salon on Saturday & they used their new callous remover (in lieu of the razor which always sort of scares me). The new thing- it looks like a cheese grater & works wonders. My feet are so soft.
- I kept all my goals a few days in a row & it felt nice.
- I really, really wanted a Diet Coke. I drank Sprite.
- I went for a run & maybe almost died, but didn’t.
- I could barely walk on Sunday.
- I lit my favorite candle & let it burn for hours.
- I spent time with friends that I think are just great.
- I rediscovered headbands (I’m hating my bangs).
- I did 4 loads of laundry & I ironed way too many pairs of pants. I hate ironing & it made me cranky.
- I registered to vote (I).
- I gave up blogging forever. Then didn't.

Why in the world would you give up blogging or even think of it! I would have nothing to read!
repeat after me: 'i will never ever give up blogging' :)
I love your blog. I'm glad you didn't give it up.
i love that you "may" have moved all the furniture by yourself and it "may" have hurt :)
I wish you didn't live so far away - my house could use you in a BIG way!
Ben loves Spiced Wassail. Our house smells like that from October through February.
I am going through the same dilemma with my bangs. It is bobby pins and headbands everyday.
Yay for (I).
Please come clean my house.
Oh, and please don't give up blogging.
I LOVED this post Kathryn. It is exactly what a blog is here for and exactly what I love about them. Yours is one of my favorites too. It all sounds so nice - the whole "recently" thing. What are your favorite headbands? I love them, but usually wear them with my hair in a pony too since we're at the park and then my hair gets stringy if I leave it down...
Hi Missy. :) I've been wearing a lot of "thin" headbands... sort of like this one:

I have a few- in black, gold, and a multi-colored one... I like really wide ones too, but I've been going more subtle lately... & oftentimes in a ponytail or bun. :)
